I painted ‘Until the End’ to try and express a particular feeling or tragic beauty that comes from knowing you want to spend your life with another person. When I lived in Malmö my apartment was next to a beautiful graveyard, and some of the oldest graves were overgrown with beautiful red ivy. I wanted to capture the feeling of a tired couple, sat together surrendering to the passage of time. - Miles Johnston
